John graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Specialization in Kinesiology in 2010 and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Calgary in 2016. John was employed as a law student within the corporate legal department of a global energy company along with working with a boutique general practice firm in British Columbia.
During law school, John was active with the University of Calgary’s Student-Legal-Assistance, by providing to legal information and access to justice to low-income individuals in Calgary. In addition, John was a founding executive of the Diversity and Law Society at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, a recipient of the Lexpert Zenith Award for the Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession. He is passionate about the promoting workplace equity, promoting fundamental human rights and reducing discrimination.
John was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2018 and joined the firm as an associate lawyer. In addition, he has made appearances before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta; however, John strives to promote out of court settlements through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
In addition, John is concurrently serving as an Officer for the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve at HMCS Tecumseh. Outside of the office, you can find John spending his time perfecting his culinary talents, playing basketball or hiking in the Canadian Rockies.
